Gabrovo and Etar

Getting there

City bus routes 1, 7 and 10 are listed for Etar. Bozhentsi is 16 km east of Gabrovo and requires a separate transfer.

Parking

Parking in front of Etar’s main entrance accommodates 20 cars and 6 buses. Spaces are not guaranteed; check parking arrangements in the centre and Bozhentsi separately.

With children and reduced mobility

Etar has a children’s centre; check the programme for your date. The museum warns of difficult access for people with reduced mobility. Ask in advance about access to floors in the other museums.

Costs

Etar and the town museums charge admission. Check what combined tickets include. An entrance fee for Sokolski Monastery has not been confirmed.

When to visit

Spring to autumn for outdoor sights. Town museums are an option in rain; schedules vary by season.
