What makes it special?

Haskovo spreads over hills above the Thracian plain, combining a monumental skyline, compact museums, parks and excellent access to the tombs, sanctuaries and wine routes of the southeast.

The modern city is best used as both destination and base. Its centre reflects 19th- and 20th-century civic development, while the surrounding region holds some of Bulgaria's most important Thracian discoveries.
