What makes it special?

Vidin rewards slow exploration along the Danube: medieval Baba Vida, Ottoman gates, religious landmarks, leafy riverside spaces and the memory of a cosmopolitan trading city.

Different eras sit unusually close together here. A fortress, mosque, Orthodox cathedral, former synagogue and military gates record Vidin's role on a strategic Danube frontier.
