What makes it special?

Silistra layers Roman Durostorum, medieval Drastar, Ottoman fortifications and a leafy Danube park into one of Bulgaria's most historically dense border cities.

Much of the ancient and medieval city lies beneath the modern one, so museum interpretation matters. The slow riverfront and views toward Romania balance that archaeological depth with a calm contemporary atmosphere.
